It’s one key trait of Horse Racing Nation’s Super Screener handicapping system to, well, “screen” out the pretenders and hone in on true high-priced contenders in these races.
Handicapper Mike Shutty identified the following Breeders’ Cup runners as either top longshots or top value runners in the 2017 races at Del Mar:
|Juvenile Fillies Turf||Best Performance||15-1||2nd|
|Juvenile Fillies Turf||Fatale Bere||25-1||5th|
|Juvenile Turf||Untamed Domain||12-1||2nd|
|Juvenile Fillies||Blonde Bomber||30-1||3rd|
|Juvenile Fillies||Caledonia Road||17-1||1st|
|Turf Sprint||Stormy Liberal||30-1||1st|
|Filly & Mare Sprint||Ami’s Mesa||18-1||2nd|
|Filly & Mare Turf||Wuheida||11-1||1st|
Aiming to follow up on that success, Shutty lists the following as three horses the Super Screener says to include on your tickets Saturday at Churchill Downs:
“This mare is in top form, and her form cycle analysis projects a big move forward here,” Shutty says. “Two of her best races came over the Churchill Downs turf course, and she performs well at this distance. Her style is to stalk and then pounce. Here, you’ll get her at a price.
20-1 in Filly & Mare Turf
“She fits the profile very well of the huge longshot bomber that typically hits the bottom of the Superfecta in this race,” Shutty says. “She comes from a top barn and relishes this distance showing strong late pace. Definitely use on the bottom of exotics.”
Discreet Lover: 20-1 Classic
“He shocked with a win in the Jockey Club Gold Cup after a pace collapse,” Shutty said. “He’s best at this distance and gets a hot and pressured pace again here. A top Super Screener bomber all year — again, user underneath.”
