I’VE got one eye on the Australian Open but the other is firmly fixed on Sunday’s action.

I admire those braving the cold temperatures up at Ayr and there a couple of cracking punts to be had there and at Exeter.

Ayr

2.00 Reivers Lad – The form of Nicky Richards’ contender’s win at Newcastle last time has been advertised well by the fourth placed Hawk High and he should have plenty more to come.

A 7lb rise shouldn’t stop this strapping sort from producing another big run and he should strip a lot fitter now as that was his first run for a year and a half.

The trainer’s horses are flying and this one can add to the haul.

3.25 Exeter – Yalltari

Exeter

3.25 Yalltari – Venetia Williams continues to have a fine run of form and Yalltari should be able to win for the fifth time in his last six starts.

He won very impressively last time out at Chespstow and looks the most progressive in the field.

A 10lb rise shouldn’t stop him and if he can win this well he’ll be one of the highest rated novices in the country.
