AS far as Sunday racing goes, it must be said that this is a bit of a damp squib.

However, as always I’ve found some gems hidden in the cards and I reckon I can finish the week with a nice profit.

Southwell

1.55 Azari – The switch to fibresand has worked wonders for Alex Dunn’s contender and he’s bolted up at the track on his last two visits.

He has to carry a penalty for his most recent win but the 6lb burden almost certainly underestimates him and he rates a good thing to dominate from the front.

First-time blinkers seemed to help him so the fact they’re retained is a positive and he’s likely to be very hard to beat.

Kelso 2.05 – Mount Mews

Kelso

2.05 Mount Mews – Looked at one stage like he might cut it at the top but has slightly lost his way of late.

Now makes the move to Donald McCain, who’s in flying form, and that could be the catalyst for him to return to his best form.

If he does, then he’s scandalously well-handicapped off a mark of 139.
