Clonmel stages a seven-race flat card this evening, featuring the two-mile Tipperary Cup.

Last year’s winner and runner-up Rashaan (top weight) and St Lawrence Gap are set to renew rivalry.

Colin Kidd’s versatile veteran Rashaan prevailed by a head 12 months ago and is now 10lb better off but is having his first run since October.

St Lawrence Gap is up 6lb for a recent success in Limerick but I will side with the Charles Byrnes-trained bottom weight Hareth who has Chris Hayes on board.

The Dermot Weld-trained Timiniya, an Aga Khan-owned daughter of Footstepsinthesand, caught the eye on her debut at Naas five weeks ago and is napped to open her account in the Irish Stallion Farms Median Auction Maiden.

Dermot Weld’s charge made late headway on that occasion and, although beaten 12 and a half lengths by the winner Bobby Boy, gave the indication that she would improve significantly from the run and appreciate the step to a mile and a quarter.
