SOME CHAOS (2.35 Market Rasen) came back with a bang to win well at Bangor last time out.

He was coming back from 20 months off there and hardly turned a hair in scoring with seven lengths in hand.

That was his handicap debut an it’s a smart move by trainer Michael Scudamore to turn him out again before the assessor gets stuck in. He shoulders a 7lb penalty for that victory and the slight step up in distance should be another plus.

There’s always a danger of the ‘bounce’ factor second up after a layoff but he jumped and travelled like a horse capable of scoring in better races than this.

NEW QUAY (12.40 Newbury) was very impressive when winning by a comfortable 10 lengths at Ascot last time out.

That was his handicap debut and he’s another being turned out quickly under a penalty. He travelled along nicely before going for home two out and easily taking care of his rivals.

That was just his fourth run so you would expect plenty of improvement and this drop back in trip shouldn’t be a concern.

LOSTINTRANSLATION (1.50 Newbury) was a classy hurdler but he was always marked down as a future chaser. He makes his debut over the bigger obstacles today and can take care of some potentially useful rivals.

He won well at Haydock in modest company before taking a big step up to end up finishing a close second in a Grade 1 at Aintree in April.

That was his first run over 2m4f and it brought out the best in him. Trainer Colin Tizzard has always talked of him in glowing terms as a chaser and we get the chance to see how good he could be today.

Wizard’s magic tips…

LUCKY 15: NEW QUAY (12.40 Newbury), LOSTINTRANSLATION (1.50 Newbury), CASABLANCA MIX (2.05 Market Rasen) and SOME CHAOS (2.35 Market Rasen).

EACH-WAY DOUBLE: MILLIE THE MINX (1.05 Sedgefield) went close here last time and the handicapper has left her mark alone. That should see her in the frame again so combine her with KAPCORSE (3.30 Newbury) who showed real promise on his last start at Bangor and has a lot more to offer over fences.

IN-FORM: Trainer James Eustace has a 67% win strike-rate in the past 14 days. Take a close look at his FATHER MCKENZIE in Chelmsford’s 8.15.

CASABLANCA MIX (2.05 Market Rasen) ran her best race over fences when second to the useful Copain De Classe at Kempton last time.

She might have won but for overjumping the final fence when right in contention. She takes a step up in class for this Listed race but looks open to further improvement.
