Timeform pick out their three best bets from Cartmel on Friday…
“…he gets the vote to score, provided he’s none the worse from his heavy fall at Bangor at the beginning of the month.”
Timeform on Sonic
Whilst Sonic hasn’t been too progressive in his career over hurdles so far, he has been consistent, hitting the frame two starts ago at Southwell in May. That form suggests that he’s good enough to win a race of this nature, and he gets the vote to score, provided he’s none the worse from his heavy fall at Bangor at the beginning of the month. With this stiffer test likely to suit Lucky Lucarno, he may well be able to reverse form with The Steward from last time.
A very open contest, but one in which Apachee Prince makes plenty of appeal. He looks well weighted on the pick of his old form, and considering that he has joined Olly Murphy – a trainer with an excellent record with recruits of this nature – he’s fancied to get back on track. Hermanus has been placed on both starts for new trainer Stef Keniry and is likely to figure again, while Handy Hollow finished with a bit of a flourish at Uttoxeter last time and the longer trip could help him.
Inchcolm finally got off the mark at the 20th attempt at Hexham in May, and whilst that was a weak contest, he backed it up when third at the same venue three weeks ago. Sent here off the same mark, he’s fancied to go close once more. Another Hexham scorer Dartford Warbler is feared if turning up in the same vein, whilst Damiens Dilemma is worth a second look from his correct mark.
