Timeform pick out their three best bets from Warwick on Friday…
“…he’s in good hands with the Skeltons, and a well-run 2 mile contest is likely to suit him down to the ground.”
Timeform on Finley’s Eyes
Finley’s Eyes has had just the three starts over timber so far, and he has shown ability whilst doing plenty wrong, pulling far too hard when second at Stratford last month, and ultimately being edged out at the finish. However, he’s in good hands with the Skeltons, and a well-run 2 mile contest is likely to suit him down to the ground. As such, he gets the vote to go one better in this. Djin Conti improved to get off the mark at Wincanton in May but shoulders a penalty for that here, whilst Peterborough and In The Pipeline are two others to consider.
Too Much Too Soon probably isn’t the heartiest of battlers, settling for minor honours on three of his four starts so far since joining Dan Skelton, but he hasn’t been doing an awful lot wrong, and ran well when second at Carlisle last time out, returning from a 5 month break and conceding first run to a prominently-ridden rival on a track which regularly favours such tactics. He still has races in him off his current mark, and is worth sticking with. West Wizard remains in good form and is next best ahead of last year’s winner Jarlath.
Darling Du Large found Graded company too hot to handle at Aintree back in April, but she had looked promising when finishing second on debut at Doncaster in January, and, she possesses the scope physically to do well this season. Eleanorofaquitaine is capable of better too, while Printing Dollars and Agent Valdez are point winners representing successful yards.
