TAKE the Highway to profits in Sandown’s Imperial Cup (2.25).

Chris Gordon’s HIGHWAY ONE O ONE looks ideal for this tough handicap after cruising to victory at Fontwell last time out.

That was just his fourth spin over hurdles and easily his best effort so far. It might have been just a novice event but he tanked along and hit the front a full circuit from home.

The race was never in doubt after that as he streaked away from his rivals to score by 12 lengths.

He makes his handicap debut today from what looks a fair mark and we know he handles the trip well. Cut in the ground won’t be an issue as he’s won in the mud but also in sounder conditions.

This is clearly a step up in quality but he’s got lots of potential and should be right in the mix.

Whatswrongwithyou looks a strong contender from Nicky Henderson. He hasn’t done a lot wrong over hurdles and had plenty in hand when scooting in at Newbury last time out.

He’s another making his handicap debut today but he had a touch of class and is certain to improve.

The yard also runs Call Me Lord right at the top of the weights. He was impressive when winning a handicap hurdle here in January and proved that was no fluke with a solid enough third in a Wincanton Grade 2 last time out.

That’s the best form on show but he is giving away lumps of weight and is taking on some progressive types today.

One that could hit the frame at a big price is Mr Antolini. He is progressing nicely and was a solid second at Huntingdon last time out. He showed his liking for this trip when winning at Leicester before that and his rider takes a valuable 3lb off.

Now Colin Tizzard’s horses are in fine nick again, FOURTH ACT can take advantage of his lenient mark in Sandown’s 3.35.

He has been looking for a test of stamina like this and was never asked any serious questions over a shorter trip on faster ground at Kempton last time out.

The nine-year-old has dropped to 4lb lower than when finishing an excellent third in good company at Cheltenham three chase starts ago. He is best in these testing conditions and should outrun his price.

Tanit River looks the main danger after his convincing win over course and distance last time out. He is another who will relish this ground and a 5lb walk up the weights keeps him in the hunt.

Believe it or not, the turf Flat starts in a couple of weeks and MR SCARAMANGA can hit the frame at big odds in the sunbets.co.uk Lincoln Trial at Wolverhampton (2.05).

He’s a Group 2 winner — albeit in Doha — and has held his own at Listed level on these shores.

Simon Dow’s miler has been knocking on the door this spring too with a third at Lingfield followed by a short-head second there last time out.

This is his best distance and, even though he’s up the weights, it’s not like he’s giving lumps away. There’s every chance of him being on the podium in this competitive contest.

Ryan Moore’s fans will surely pile into Original Choice who should go well. He was last seen losing a Haydock handicap on the nod in September. He looks the type to improve as a four-year-old and wouldn’t have to pull out much more to take this.

But the bookies have been watching and he looks a little skinny with so many rivals to tackle.

Big Country looks a fairer price and he’s won both his starts on the all-weather. He’s off the same mark as his solid fifth at York last time out in October and is interesting on this drop back in distance.

He’s usually campaigned at around 1m2f but has plenty of pace and should be in the shake-up.
