Welcome to Pennsylvania Derby day!

Saturday’s Grade 1, $1 million event at Parx Racing headlines a 13-race card that includes multiple other stakes, namely the Cotillion for 3-year-old fillies and featuring Monomoy Girl, the likely division champion.

We won’t see an Eclipse Award winner in the males’ flight — Justify has that locked up — but that’s not to say it lacks star power. Bravazo ran in every leg of the Triple Crown, Instilled Regard was fourth in the Kentucky Derby and Hofburg won a stakes last out. Oh, and trainer Bob Baffert’s original Derby favorite, pre-injury and pre-Justify, is back to the races.

“He was like, the best 3-year-old in the country,” Baffert said of McKinzie, the 5-2 morning line favorite. “He has shown me how good a horse he is in the mornings. We are still very high on him. Hopefully, he will break well and we will see if he still has it.”

So with that, here’s a look at the field with morning line odds. Note the price on Instilled Regard in particular, especially as he switches to the high-profile barn of Chad Brown for this race. Were he and Axelrod confused, and will we really get that value?

 1. First Mondays  15-1
 2. Hofburg  3-1
 3. Instilled Regard  15-1
 4. King Zachary  20-1
 5. Core Beliefs  10-1
 6. Axelrod  5-1
 7. Mr Freeze  12-1
 8. McKinzie  5-2
 9. Trigger Warning  20-1
 10. Bravazo  6-1

Tune in

Post time is 5:45 p.m., and you may need to do some work to watch the Pennsylvania Derby. It won’t air on NBC or NBCSN as many other big races do this time of year with no Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” status for any race on the card.

If you’re in the Philadelphia area, you can tune to local NBCSN. Otherwise, your best bet is TVG. Should you not get that locally, sign up for a TVG account and head to TVG.com/live for a high-definition live stream. Other advanced deposit wagering services such as NYRA Bets will also stream the track feed of the race.

The undercard

Before the main event are some really worthwhile stakes races, including the Grade 3 Gallant Bob, one heck of a betting race for 3-year-old sprinters. The Pa Derby Champion Stakes also marks the return of Baffert-trained Collected as he preps for a potential try at the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Here’s a look at the fields:

Race 7: Alphabet Soup Stakes

Race 8: Pa Derby Champion Stakes

Race 9: Gallant Bob Stakes (G3)

Race 10: Cotillion Stakes (G1)

Race 11: Pennsylvania Derby (G1)
