See all the winning looks from Ladies Day 2018
As the gates of the Berkshire racecourse are opened to thousands of enthusiastic racegoers, the grounds will fill up with glamorous frocks, spectacular hats and several A-list spots.
Ladies Day takes place on the Thursday of the annual event each year, coinciding with The Gold Cup, Ascot’s longest surviving race. The term ‘Ladies Day’ was coined in 1923, by an anonymous poet who described the day as “Ladies’ Day… when the women, like angels, look sweetly divine”.
Earlier this week, Meghan Markle elevated the Royal Ascot style stakes when she made her racing debut in a white Givenchy dress. And, with many royals sure to be in attendance today, including Her Majesty The Queen, we’ll have to see what other style statements the Royal Family have in store.
