It has been another busy Saturday, but the action is far from over and Sky Sports Racing is at Newcastle, where the eight-race card kicks off at 3.30. Here are three runners to watch
Simon Crisford recorded a notable feat when sending out his first winner in Dubai recently, and it is interesting the trainer has chosen to run the talented Kareena Kapoor this evening.
Second to subsequent Prix Morny winner Pretty Pollyanna on debut at Yarmouth last year, the daughter of More That Ready then finished third to Comedy, who would win a Group 3 on her next start, and Star Terms, who went on to be beaten just a neck in the Prix Marcel Boussac on her next start.
She should have no issue accounting for these, providing she is in similar form. She stands out as the best horse racing this evening.
And then there was the curious case of Kentuckyconnection. How many other horses have the ability to finish fifth in the 2,000 Guineas, beaten just over five lengths, but then not be able to win off a mark of 72?
A son of American sire Include, Kentuckyconnection has only won once in his life and that was on debut at Redcar. This evening, he’s down to a career-low mark of 68, but needs to show some of his old spark.
By the time Klopp takes to the track for the final race at Newcastle, it is highly likely her namesake will be celebrating a victory against Brighton.
The equine Klopp has also been in good form, winning over course and distance on her last start. That was on handicap debut, and she’s now 5lb higher, meaning she’s also 1lb better off with Willow Brook, who was just a head behind her.
