THERE is some fiercely competitive action on the Flat at York this afternoon.

We’ve had our head in the formbook and picked out a couple of horses that look over priced in the betting.

2.20 York – Daawy

Useful four-year-old has had some solid form so far this season for David O’Meara.

Makes his debut for the talented Roger Fell today, and the North Yorkshire-based trainer has performed wonders with similar types in the past.

He looks on a good mark, has been well-drawn and will get a strong pace to aim at here.

4.30 York – Baldwin

Ran with promise on each of his first three starts, including when finishing third at this track on debut.

Returned after a gelding operation at Southwell last time but was a shade disappointing in fourth.

However, it’s possible he didn’t like the Fibresand surface and he is worth another chance back on turf.
