A safety charity has labelled two mobility scooter riders as “highly irresponsible” after they were filmed driving the vehicle down a Dundee street.
The footage showed two people in hoods riding tandem down Perrie Street in Lochee.
The video was recorded by a passenger in another vehicle while they headed towards South Road.
One of the young scooter riders is holding on to the other as they steer the vehicle past the junction with Lorne Street.
It is unclear when exactly the footage was filmed but it appeared online at the weekend.
The 12-second clip has already racked up thousands of views online. A man’s voice can he heard inside the car as it passes the scooter as he gives a running, horse racing-style commentary as he overtakes.
Class 3 scooters can reach speeds of up to 8mph and are designed to be used on both pavements and road surfaces – and not by two people at once.
Nick Lloyd, acting head of road safety charity the The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), said: “The video shows two people using the mobility scooter in a highly irresponsible way.”
