THE cold snap is really starting to unsettle, but that definitely doesn’t mean I’m going to throw my tipping toys out of the pram.
I thrive on sub-zero temperatures, and so do these selections – provided the frost covers have their desired effect.
3.05 Alaskan Bay – Pharoah Jake has gone back up 4lb which could make following up tricky, so this is best left to Rae Guest’s improver.
She’s been plying her trade at Wolverhampton but should have no problems back on polytrack based on her second at this course back in September.
She’s got a nice draw and should be bang there with Seamus Cronin’s 7lb claim.
2.45 Steely Addition – I’m a big fan of this horse and I’m sure he’s got plenty more left in the tank.
He was a very easy winner at this course last time out and consequently earned a rise of nearly a stone.
He’s got to give weight away now but he’s actually well-in with most of his rivals and he can strike again at his favourite track.
Bully’s Friday Bankers
Lingfield 3.05 – Alaskan Bay
Chepstow 2.45 – Steely Addition
Musselburgh 3.30 – Benny’s Secret
Kempton 6.45 – Given Choice
3.30 Benny’s Secret – Only just lost out at this track last time, flying at the finish to be beaten a short-head.
Has been raised 2lb for that but it doesn’t handicap him out of things as he was rated higher in the past.
This is a weaker race than last time and he should be hard to beat.
6.45 Given Choice – Showed a fine turn of foot to land the odds last time out and although she only won by 5 lengths, it could easily have been 10.
A 6lb rise could well underestimate her and the form of her previous second behind Aircraft Carrier now looks very strong as that one went onto score in a much higher grade earlier this week.
This is a very winnable contest and I would expect her to do the business before possibly going on to even better things.
