Keep an eye on the betting because there are some very well bred newcomers on show here, including Orchid Star, Edifice and Flarepath. ]It would be no surprise if any of those were good enough first time.
But IMPULSION sets a fair standard after a decent fourth in a Group 3 contest at Newmarket last time. She won her maiden at Goodwood and has been in stronger company than this since.
NAQAAWA enjoyed the step up to 1m2f when winning at Nottingham in June and was again on the premises over that distance at York last time when sent off favourite.
This longer trip again looks a wise move and Ryan Moore is a good booking to ride. Blooriedotcom won well at Haydock back in May and will come on for his comeback effort at Wolverhampton last time.
GOOD TYNE GIRL won the last time she dropped into this selling company and wasn’t disgraced at Ripon last time out. With trainer Richard Fahey in good form and Silvestre De Sousa in the saddle, she looks hard to beat here.
Go Annie Go regularly runs well in races like this and is best over this trip. She’ll be right there again.
EQUILATERAL is taking a sizable drop in class here and should have enough class to see off his two rivals. He was midfield in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup when well backed at Royal Ascot and the drop to 5f may be another positive factor.
Line Of Reason is the pick of the other two, coming here after a close-up fourth in a Beverley Listed race.
MUKALAL has dropped to his last winning mark and put a couple of poor runs behind him when a close-up fifth in good company at Goodwood last time out. It will be interesting to see the effect a first-time visor has on him and Ryan Moore should be able to get a tune out of him over this ideal trip.
Mountain Rescue has done well at this level and is just 3lb higher than when winning at Newmarket earlier this summer.
AL MUREIB has been working up to his first win and should be more than good enough to get off the mark in a relatively modest novice event. He’s been well backed for his past two outings and went down in a head-bobber at Wolverhampton last time.
A repeat of that would be good enough. Purdey’s Gift looks the pick of the newcomers from in-form Andrew Balding.
None of these are entirely reliable but RIGHT ABOUT NOW showed a good attitude when winning at Yarmouth last time and a 3lb rise in the weights looks fair.
His rider can claim that amount today so he’s effectively no higher and this trip suits well. Long Call has been running a bit better than the bare form suggests and he should be thereabouts.
