SILVER looks solid in Ascot’s 3.35.
SILVER STREAK came back from six months off to record a personal best when winning at Chepstow last time out.
He looked a top hurdling prospect there as he belted along before putting the race to bed a long way from home.
Rising star of the apprentice ranks Mitchell Bastyan got a good tune out of him there and the pair are reunited from a fair 8lb higher in the weights.
The four-year-old has had a sighter of Ascot after finishing a fair fourth here in April but he seems to have taken a large step forward since then.
He had already looked a decent handicapper when winning by no fewer than 12 lengths at Taunton before following up at Musselburgh.
This is his toughest assignment yet but the trip and ground suit so he can take it in his stride.
Charli Parcs should have won at Newbury on his seasonal comeback and did well to keep going after smacking into the third-last.
He boxed on to the line for a solid second and is the biggest threat.
He has long been earmarked as a star since coming over from France to win well on his UK debut this time last year.
That was enough for him to go off favourite for the Grade 2 Adonis at Kempton where another untimely mistake was costly as he hit the deck.
Nicky Henderson’s flyer recovered to finish sixth in the Triumph Hurdle which underlines that the raw talent is there.
Air Horse One is regularly mentioned in dispatches as a hurdler to follow.
He hasn’t really scaled the heights expected of him but he did lift a big prize here in February and was a solid third at Newbury latest.
It looks like the handicapper has a grip of him at the moment but it would be no shock to see him hit the frame at rewarding odds.
Elgin won well on his last visit here and followed up in style in the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham last time.
He loves a biggish field like this and is at the top of his game. He’s been put up another 6lb for that last victory but is only five and could pull out more.
LIL ROCKERFELLER got the better of L’Ami Serge here last time and will love the step up in trip for the Long Walk Hurdle at 2.25.
His main rival today will be last year’s winner Unowhatimeanharry who had his colours lowered in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury last time out.
There was no shame in that and he will have blown any cobwebs away in defeat.
But he could be settling for second best again at gutsy Lil Rockerfeller won’t lie down.
He was beaten less than a length in the Sunbets Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival so should relish every yard of this distance.
He has no problem with soft ground and can employ his usual tactics by going from the front. Trevor Whelan’s mount could take some stopping too.

LAKE VIEW LAD will love the Haydock mud in the Tommy Whittle Chase (2.45).
He ploughed through the slop to score at Newcastle over just shy of 3m last time and was in front from a long way out. In fact, he was finding reserves of stamina as his rivals were crying enough.
This is a step up in class from that as he takes on some battle-hardened handicappers but he has a lot more to offer from a fair weight.
Three Faces West came back from 11 months off to run a cracker in third at Cheltenham last time and is another who loves it hock deep.
Philip Hobbs’ chaser has won around here before and gets every yard of the distance.
Provided that comeback hasn’t taken too much out of him — and he’s had 35 days to recover — he should be right in the shake-up.
