3.15 NEWMARKET: Sun Chariot Stakes
WIND CHIMES can sail away with Saturday’s Group 1.
STICK with distance winners in this classy contest, which means putting a line through Altyn Orda and Clemmie who fall at the first trends hurdle.
Many of the contenders seem a little low in the official ratings, with Wilamina, Happily, I Can Fly and Veracious short of the standard you normally need for this contest.
The four that are still standing fit the trends pretty well — Aljazzi, Billesdon Brook, Laurens and Wind Chimes.
This is one of those races where winning last time out is a real negative, which puts a question mark over Laurens despite her Group 1 heroics at Leopardstown three weeks ago.
With Aljazzi and Billesdon Brook trading in the betting at bigger prices than most winners of this, WIND CHIMES could be the one to concentrate on.
She won a Deauville Group 3 before just falling short in the highest class at Longchamp last time out.
She ran a cracker to finish third in the French 1,000 Guineas from a bad draw earlier this season and is long overdue a win in this class.
Today could well be the day, especially as Andre Fabre has come over and won this race before.
