With a loaded slate of four graded stakes set for Tuesday’s opening day at Santa Anita Park — including the Grade 1, $300,000 La Brea Stakes — Horse Racing Nation’s Super Screener is here to help you cash.
The Super Screener Stakes Weekly analysis is based on a robust, time-tested research methodology driven by a set of rules, with the inspiration for this product came from our loyal Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Super Screener customers. They have often asked us for a product focused on analyzing the key graded stakes that run each weekend throughout the year.
What’s offered here — for free — is only a small sample of the full product now available! The Screener will also cover the Grade 1 Malibu and other Tuesday stakes at Santa Anita. So, on to the preview…
Of the four graded stakes on the Santa Anita opening day card, the seven-furlong La Brea is the highlight of the bunch as the two best 3 year-old fillies on the West
Coast in Unique Bella and Paradise Woods finally face off surrounded by a strong supporting cast of some up and comers. Over the
past four editions of this race, the winner went off at odds of at least 10-1, which probably won’t happen here but is good to note. Pace types
finish in second place on a regular basis, and closers have a great shot to win this race, often at a price.
So, which of the favorites is on top of our tickets?
#7 Paradise Woods (8-5) — She looms very dangerous here coming off that better-than-it-looked third-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff. She did all the work up front dueling and then was the only front-runner standing in the end. A drop back in distance is just perfect and on her preferred track surface where, she is 4-for-4 in the exacta. Works have been spectacular. Will press the pace then pounce.
