Following a winning return in Saturday’s Group 3 September Stakes at Kempton Park, Enable was reported to be be in good shape Sunday morning as she eyes a repeat victory in the Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Oct. 7.

The racing manager for Prince Khalid Abdullah, Teddy Grimthorpe, told Racing UK Enable had “no problems” exiting her first race since last year’s Arc.

“She (got) into a good rhythm, and although she was a little bit fresh, she settled really well, and she quickened well when asked. The runner-up (Crystal Ocean) is a very solid horse,”
Grimthorpe said.

“The Arc is a huge race and she will have to bring her A-game, but that was a very good start to her year, if a somewhat belated one.”

Enable missed her spring return due to a knee injury.

Racing UK reports Enable as the 7-4 current favorite to win the Arc. The 1 1/2-mile turf event was named the Longines World’s Best Horse Race for the second time in 2017, a race Enable beat older males in at age 3.
