Don’t miss out on Sun Racing’s best bet and each-way shot at all of Sunday’s meetings
AFTER a busy Saturday and with York only around the corner things take a step back this Sunday with only two meetings.
Eyes will also be on France with the Group 1 Prix Morny being invaded by a host of British and Irish horses.
4.05 Georgian Manor – Sir Michael Stoute doesn’t send many to Pontefract and has a decent strike rate in the last five years of 20%. Georgian Manor put behind a lazy run to score more comfortably than the distance suggests at Doncaster. The step up to a mile should see further improvement and a 4lbs rise doesn’t worry me.
3.35 Darkanna – There’s some trust needed in the Richard Fahey yard for this one but Darkanna was a classy juvenile. Things didn’t go well abroad and she’s had a lengthy break since which is far from a positive. But if she comes back in good form she should be right in the mix despite the draw.
2.50 One For Billy – I respect John Constable like any racing fan does but the Skelton horse must be of interest at the prices. One For Billy has run three times over fences, John Constable has never run over them. There’s plenty more to it of course, but I’ll take the form in the book over potential each and every time.
3.25 Ballycrystal – He’s been consistent over fences in four starts and another summer on his back may help bring him forward more. He returns on a mark he should prove better than in time for the formidable team of Brian Ellison and Danny Cook.
