Timeform pick out their three best bets from Punchestown on Sunday…

“…has the potential to go on to bigger and better things…”

Timeform on Swordsman

A Plus Tard – 13:15 Punchestown

A Plus Tard surpassed his useful French hurdles form at the second attempt over fences when scoring at Naas a month ago, never far away and travelling fluently, and with further progress on the cards, he’s very appealing in receipt of weight all round. Winter Escape and Jetz are feared most.

Swordsman – 14:50 Punchestown

This looks a good renewal of this Grade 2, and Swordsman is expected to build on his promising win in a maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse earlier this month. He is a brother to the exciting Battleoverdoyen – who is also trained by Gordon Elliott – and he has the potential to go on to bigger and better things, so is worth chancing here.

Vision d’Honneur – 15:20 Punchestown

Vision d’Honneur changed hands for €350,000 following a Flat win in France and while he didn’t quite match expectations when fourth on hurdles bow on Boxing Day it was still a promising effort. He’s sure to step up on that and will take some stopping, for all Elixir D’ainay is an unknown quantity. The Tartan Spartan is also capable of better.

Minimum Bet Guarantee

Betfair’s ‘minimum bet guarantee’ on all Class 1 and 2 races in the UK and Ireland – which means all customers are able to bet to win a minimum of £500 – has been extended to cover all races at selected meetings this week. T&Cs apply.
