Timeform pick out their three best bets from Kempton on Wednesday…
“…can continue the good spell that the Clive Cox yard has been going through of late…”
Timeform on Get Back Get Back
ALHAAZM made plenty of appeal on paper, a full-brother to the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Awtaad and, he duly shaped well when third on his debut at Wolverhampton two weeks ago, keeping on to be beaten only four lengths under considerate handling.
That form is amongst the best on offer in this line-up and, while there are some interesting newcomers in opposition, Alhaazem is open to more improvement in his own right and could be the way to go in this for powerful connections.
Just The Man is another who will be attempting to put his experience to good use and can give the selection most to.
Upped markedly in trip for his handicap debut, GET BACK GET BACK produced a career best to double his tally of wins here three weeks ago, hitting the front entering the final two furlongs and finding plenty thereafter to hold off the late thrust of the runner-up by three quarters of a length.
That form sets the standard on weight-adjusted ratings here and, with further improvement on the cards after just four starts, Get Back Get Back is fancied to defy a 4 lb rise in the weights and can continue the good spell that the Clive Cox yard has been going through of late (two winners and three placed from last six runners).
SUNBLAZER has had a poor year overall, but he’s got a good record on the all-weather and took a step back in the right direction when third over C&D last month.
He’s on a handy mark if building on that, 5 lb lower than when winning this race 12 months ago, and could be worth chancing in his attempt to get back to winning ways, with Jim Crowley taking over in the saddle.
Conkering Hero was well held back on turf last time, but he had been on an upward curve prior to that and should bounce back, while Rydan is another to consider.
