WORTH Waiting surged home late to take out the Listed Aphrodite Stakes at Newmarket under Franny Norton.

The David Lanigan-trained filly was short of room approaching the final furlong but finished impressively once in the clear to win going away .

Racing in first-time blinkers, Alwaysandforever (7-2F) was a little keen under Pat Cosgrave but held every chance a furlong out. Her effort flattened out inside the final 100 yards and she had to settle for fourth.
